Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 3, 2026
DTox does not collect, store, transmit, or sell your personal data. We do not operate remote databases or tracking servers. All app shielding, step counting, and on-device Vision AI verification occur strictly inside your iPhone's local sandbox.
1. Apple Screen Time API & Permissions
DTox utilizes Apple's official Screen Time framework (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, and DeviceActivity). Under Apple's strict privacy sandboxing:
- DTox cannot see which apps you open, your messages, search queries, or photos.
- App selection tokens are encrypted by the iOS operating system and stored only in your local App Group container.
- Shields are directly managed by the iOS kernel.
2. Motion & Health Sensor Data
When you enable Kinesthetic Step or Stair challenges, DTox requests permission to access Apple CoreMotion (CMPedometer / CMAltimeter). Step and floor counts are verified instantaneously in memory during active challenges and are never transmitted to any third party.
3. Camera & On-Device Vision AI
When you enable the Real-Life Book Proof challenge, DTox requests temporary camera access solely to detect printed book text using Apple's on-device Vision framework. Video frames are analyzed in real-time in volatile memory; no photos or video streams are ever saved, recorded, or transmitted.
4. Analytics and Telemetry
DTox does NOT include third-party advertising SDKs, Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or tracking cookies. Diagnostic telemetry (such as saved minutes and prevented opens) is computed and stored entirely on your device.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
Purchases and subscriptions are securely processed by Apple via the App Store. Transaction management and entitlement verification are handled through the RevenueCat SDK in compliance with Apple's standard StoreKit guidelines.
